September 18th, 2010, Racing Update:  Just two weeks ago Bob Lineman Jr. and Sr., along with the rest of the Lineman Race Team thought their season had come to an end. During the early parts of the 84 lap feature event held two weeks earlier, Bob had something happen internally to his number 1 race engine, thus it didn't look good for the remainder of the season for any racing. The crew talked about it and took the back up engine to Jerry at Medford Speed to see what he could come up with in a short period of time.

Jerry fixed the back up race engine and the team packed up the hauler and decided to take another stab at New Egypt on Saturday night, since they really felt that they had found something in the set up during the last race at the track. It didn't take long for Lineman Jr. to prove that indeed yes, the team was onto something, as Bob took the Cenco Heating Oil, USA-1, Troyer Chassis forward and finished in 2nd place in his heat.

Minor chassis changes were made in between waiting for the feature event because the crew and driver both felt they had the right set up for the tracks changing conditions. Lineman Jr. once again, like he did two weeks before, and already earlier in the evening, started to make his way forward through the highly competitive pack of Modifieds. By the end of the event Lineman Jr. provided the fans, and his team with a solid 2nd place finish in the feature. The result equaled Bob's 2nd place heat and 2nd place feature finish which he had back on July 17th, which has been one filled with many ups and downs, but this was a great confidence booster. Hats off to Jerry at Medford Speed for getting the back up racing engine back together and giving Bob the power to have a great feature finish.

The team is now preparing their Syracuse Big Block car once again for Richie Tobias Jr. The car is ready to go, and the team is confident that they will bring home the top prize from the Moody Mile this year. Bob mentioned that plans might see him race after the team is back from Syracuse, so stay tuned for future news updates.
