BOB LINEMAN JR. POSTS A 10TH PLACE FINISH AT 5 MILE POINT SATURDAY..
September 4th, 2010, Racing Update: Team Lineman loaded up the hauler and made the multi hour trek to the 5 Mile Point Speedway this past Saturday night. Originally the team had scheduled the weekend to be at Big Diamond, where in 2009 Bob lost out on the win in the big sportsman race when with 16 laps to go his engine left go. Bob Sr. and Bob Jr. have been watching what has been going on at Big Diamond this season, and with the tracks conditions not seeming to be consistent the two felt that a drive to 5 Mile Point just might be more productive. I would have to say they made a great call, since anyone who frequents the South Jersey message board, or who attended Big Diamond this past weekend 9 times out of 10 were to say it nicely not very happy with many things that went on at the track.
Going out in his heat race Bob would start in the 7th position and not knowing what to really expect he didn't want to push his luck and really make a charge up through the pack. By the end of the event Lineman posted a 5th place finish which was indeed good enough to secure him and the team a starting spot in the nights feature event. The feature cars were called onto the speedway and the crew had Bob's, USA-1, Cenco Heating Oil, Troyer Chassis all ready to do business. Bob started the event in 13th and did manage to move into the 10th position close to the end of the race. When the checkered was waving from the flagger at 5 Mile Point Bob had held onto the 10th spot and overall he was happy with the nights outcome. "We should have put more gear into the car, but you know what, we finished 10th, and during the whole show tonight I didn't get hit by another car, so we are leaving here without any damage, so the whole trip was worth it", Lineman said.
