Lineman Jr. posts a 9th Place Feature Finish during

Round 3 of the TOTH Series at Grandview.

July 14th Racing Update:  Bob Lineman Jr. provided the fans that attended round 3 of the Thunder On The Hill race series at Grandview Speedway with some down right excitement during both his heat race, and his feature. Lineman would draw and start his heat in the 5th spot, and with a previous day and a half of heavy rains nobody including Team Lineman was really sure of what to make of the conditions that would await them on the high banked speedway.

 

Well, one thing for sure, in the heat race, starting in 5th it was sure to be a test of who came to race, and it was answered in short fashion. Lineman Jr. took off like an IRL driver, looking for an opening and putting the USA-1, Troyer Chassis into the next position. Bob was a man on a mission, and before anyone realized it Lineman had taken over the top spot by the half way marker and began to extend his lead. By the end of the heat race Lineman Jr. powered his way not only to the heat win, but also put a long distance between himself and the 2nd place finisher.

 

Feature action watched Lineman pull 11th out of the 12 starters. Though the team had put the set up into the car that they felt would work on the track, with the previous feature race on the surface the track was getting dry, and slowing the action down on the track. Bob didn't have anytime for a change of set-up because he along with the rest of the Sportsman field was already lines up and waiting to go while the other feature was under way. Lineman Jr. held his own, and during the feature before the track went away to much, he made a few nice moves that got him up to the 9th position which in the end is where he would finish the feature event. Though Lineman Jr. remarked it wasn't the feature finish he was looking for, it was the best the young driver has produced at Grandview, and to think it was only his 3rd ever start, he has already produced 3 top 10 heat finishes, with 1 heat win, and now this is his first top 10 feature finish.
