Lack of brakes end Feature action for Lineman Jr. at Big Diamond Raceway.

July 9th Racing Update:  The first trip of the season for Lineman Racing at Big Diamond Raceway in Minersville, PA started off on a positive note. Bob took to the speedway in his Troyer chassis, showing off a different graphics scheme then the crowd saw last year at the Pennsylvania speed plant. The USA-1 Cenco Heating Oil Sportsman Modified had the attention of many in the grandstands, and they even more impressed after the heat race action that Lineman Jr. produced. Starting 9th in his heat, Bob wasted little time getting the USA-1 up to the 8th position, then he followed that up with picking off the 6th spot just a lap and a half later. By the time the checkered was flying, Lineman Jr. had put his car into the feature field with a solid 4th place run.

The crew made some changes on the chassis before the feature, as week long 95 to 100 degree air temperatures had taken there toll early on the Big Diamond oval. They went with the set up they felt would be the best and though Bob finished 4th in his heat, since he is a non regular, and not having any points at the track he would be starting in the 18th position. The start of the feature saw Lineman Jr. staying basically where he was until the traffic in front of him would start to break apart. While looking for an opening on lap 3 Bob felt the brake system in the car going south very fast. It was only 1 lap latter that Lineman Jr. would have to pull off of the speedway because of having virtually no brakes at all on the car. It was a very good showing at Big Diamond, and if the brake issue wouldn't have happened everyone felt sure that at least a top 10, if not better was in the cards, but it just wasn't in the cards on this night.
