Lineman Lands a Solid 2nd Place in the Inaugural Big Kahuna Race at New Egypt Speedway ...
May 29th, 2011: Putting all the wows of just 12 hours behind them, and camping out over night at New Egypt Speedway for a special Sunday Show, Bob Lineman Jr., and his team were ready to put last night behind them, and go after today's prize. Indeed, Lineman used all of his engine built by Jerry Glenn from Medford Speed and Machine, and put the hammer down as he raced that 2011 Troyer Chassis to his second heat race win of the season. Lineman who drives his USA-1, Cenco Heating Oil sponsored ride has been very consistent in heat races so far in 2011, where he has finished in the top 3 in all of them to date.
The crew went to work prepping the chassis for the feature event, and watched as Bob would line up in the 5th starting spot in the "Big Kahuna" feature event. Lineman had his hands full as the track surface quickly turned very slick, and became very fast. Bob battled his way during the event and step by step he made progress, as he jumped into the 4th spot, then was able to pull off another pass for 3rd. With the laps winding down Lineman made several attempts at the lead, but the track just changed to much for the set up that the team went with. All in all though, Bob went on to finish in 2nd place which was an awesome finish, and a great way to wrap up 2 days of racing. A win would have been great, but finishing 2nd after a tough night was just what the doctor would have ordered.
