Wrong Place at The Wrong Time... Ending A Strong Night

of Racing for Bob Lineman Jr. at New Egypt Speedway..

May 14th, 2011:  If this is an indication of things to come, then the next race Bob Lineman Jr. will be in at New Egypt will result in another night ending appearance in Victory Lane. Why would anyone think something like that? Well, here is the thought process that makes this writer come to that conclusion. Opening race, Lineman cruised to a big time win in the ROC event held at NES, then the next race two weeks later his night was ended by being a victim of circumstance. Once again, two weeks later he blasts through the field at NES and collects win #2 for the season, which brings us to this past Saturday night when bad karma struck once again, and resulted in Lineman making an early feature exit due to being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Things started out on a very high note Saturday night as Bob Lineman Jr didn't let the 8th starting spot in his heat put a damper on things. Lineman used all of the USA-1, Cenco Heating Oil sponsored, Troyer Chassis to power through the pack of cars and by the time the checkered was waving Bob had secured not only a feature starting spot, but he did so by winning his first heat race of the season. The crew got down to business as soon as Lineman returned to his pit spot. Once again track conditions leaned towards what they were just two weeks before when Bob picked up win #2 for the season, so with that in mind everyone agreed to setting the car up almost identical for the feature.

Due to be up in the points battle Lineman would start 17th in the feature event. Once again, Lineman knew he had plenty of horsepower to work with, and he was proving it as he applied the throttle pedal that is attached to carb and engine built by Jerry Glenn from Medford Speed and Machine. Bob flew up from 17th to the 9th spot in the field within the first 4 laps of the feature event. Then, like a month before, Lineman found himself being a victim of an accident, which was caused on the lap 5 restart when 2 cars in front of him tangled and left no room for Lineman to get around. Heavy front end damage ended a great run, but once again, Bob said they will get the car fixed up and ready to go at it again.

Bob will be in action at New Egypt on Saturday May 28th, and on the following day, Sunday May 29th when he takes part in the "Big Kahuna Series" racing event that is being hosted by Speedway Entertainments Rich "Toby" Tobias.
