April 30th, 2011: Nearly one month to the day, Bob Lineman Jr., of Doylestown PA. provided the crowd at New Egypt Speedway something to talk about yet again. A month earlier Lineman posted an opening night win at New Egypt, by besting the highly stacked field of ROC Sportsman Modifieds. Then two weeks later once again Lineman was on the move in the feature at New Egypt when a fellow competitor made a controversial move that caused Bob's car to come to a stop against the outside retaining wall. The following two weeks the crew members put in some long hours making sure the new 2011 Troyer Chassis was fully repaired, and that all nuts, bolts, and hardware were in full working order for when Bob would return to racing action.
Well, Bob made his return this past Saturday night, and he started the night off exactly how he did just a month before. Lineman took his ultra sleek looking USA-1, Cenco Heating Oil, Sportsman Modified onto the speedway and finished with a solid 2nd place finish in his heat race. The crew and driver paid special attention to the track changes in between races, because 2 weeks before they were just a little off due to the track drying out faster then they expected. By the time the feature was being called to the speedway, Team Lineman had made all the changes that they felt were needed in order to give Bob his best shot at another top finish.
Erin Lineman, Bob's wife was in the stands on this night, along with their 3 children, Abby, Colton, and Mason, who all missed being a part of Bob's first win at New Egypt just weeks before. Bob's family, along with a host of many fans in the stands were ready to see if Lineman would be able to produce another top finish in the nights feature event. Bob drew the 7th starting spot, and from the start of the race, he battled with racing rival Roco Infante. The two drivers went back and forth with who was leading the feature event, as Roco took the low side, and Lineman decided to let it all hang out by looking like he was at Syracuse by taking to the high side of the track, and best of all he was making it work.
In the end, when the checkered was waving Lineman crossed the imaginary finish line first, and out ran a hard charging Infante to pick up his second feature win at New Egypt Speedway in the 2011 season. Hats go off to the entire crew, plus Jerry Glenn from Medford Speed and Machine for providing Bob with all the horsepower he needed to get the job done. A special thank you once again goes out to New Egypt Speedway's track photographer Jim Brown for supplying Lineman Racing with the Victory Lane photos, and action photos that are used on this website.
