STRONG FEATURE START STOPPED WITH A CONTROVERSIAL ACCIDENT THAT ENDED LINEMAN'S NIGHT AT NES ...
April 15th, 2011: Coming back off his season opening ROC sportsman modified victory at New Egypt Speedway, Bob Lineman Jr. and his crew were looking to produce another top ten finish. Bob drew the pole in his heat race and with the track drying out faster then the crew had thought it would the USA-1, Cenco Heating Oil, Troyer Chassis modified gave Bob a handful to keep up front. As the laps clicked off Lineman managed to get some heat into the tires, and make some in car adjustments, which would help him finish 3rd in his heat and most importantly qualify for the nights feature event.
The crew went to work on the chassis, making the needed adjustments to compensate for the track conditions. Bob would line up 7th in the packed field of sportsman modifieds on hand, and early on everyone just basically put in some hard racing laps and not much in the way of passing could be found. Before things went any further, another car made a controversial move which sent Lineman's car getting stuffed into the front stretch wall. The crash was hard enough to put an end to Lineman's night, which saw him getting towed back to the pits. Bob walked away with no injuries, which is the best news, and the crew let him know that the car will be ready for action in another 2 weeks when the sportsman modifieds return to New Egypt.
